ABOUT
ROXEHA is an artistic duo formed by Roxanne Wegscheider and Denis Auspert. It is an association between Roxanne's nickname, the letters of Denis's first and last name, and the end of the word "aloha". It expresses many feelings and can show different signs of affection such as love and compassion. These feelings define life and its different energies. The result of ROXEHA is the creation of a universe with works of unconventional forms filled with abstract forms, delirious characters, living beings and asymmetrical shapes. It's a real state of mind, a positive way of life!
We are a self-taught couple from Brussels. In addition to being partners in everyday life, we are also partners in art. We met in 2018 at the Tomorrowland festival and have been creating projects and ideas together ever since. We were already drawing, tinkering and experimenting on our own since our childhood. We then decided to really explore our artistic vision and to launch ROXEHA together, at the end of 2020. We love to think outside the box and want to elicit positive reactions from those who come in contact with our art. We want joy, happiness, vibrant colors and sparkling universes to be reflected in our work.
From our earliest ages, we were interested in drawing and Roxanne loved collage and the layering of textures. Our art is a celebration of bold lines that form asymmetrical strokes creating endless possibility of interpretations. We see what we want to see and it is up to everyone's imagination to try to guess what is hidden behind each shape. Our work is fluid, using clean lines and patterns. Our work is a long process that is done in different stages. We use many different materials which gives this raised and 3D aspect by mixing and superimposing different textures.
We combine many passions among which encounters and travels have the most influence in our artworks. We really complement each other and are like yin and yang. Our motto in life is to enjoy every second. You must always try to achieve your goals in life because the biggest failure is not try. It seems important to us, even crucial, to spread positive thinking because we all have one thing in common as human beings: we are all part of a giant community. Our goal is to connect with each other, to mix our different energies and to spread joy and good vibes!
